Resume Connichi 2010 and a decision ...

Connichi is over now and it was exhausting, humbling and beautiful in equal measure. Never before has a mass produced so fundamentally different feelings and it is difficult to say whether they generally positive or negative is run. First I have to separate this two basic things:
"Vee-Jas" and "the rest" (where the latter is not meant pejoratively ...)

Vee-Jas
I must honestly say, I like "Vee-Jas" very happy. I have worked for years with Tanya, it's great fun and we are a super team. When I look back now and inclusive with my work with ARS (where the process and the organization remains the same yes), I must say that I've been doing it all now 10 years. 10 years I attend trade shows and conventions, put out things bring new self-made products to the market, let posters, comics, calendars, print and merchandise and produce. All this was great fun was, but also stressful, and brought some much controversy and chaos with it.

When I then left the ARS was like a liberation. Tanya and I felt better and we were now on as "Vee-Jas" in Cons. This was largely successful, but for some time the competition is simply too large, printed products of any kind are not so popular and it is simply time that we take our leave of such fairs. There are dozens of other artists and artist groups, simply fit better Manga fairs.
After we had on the 2010 Connichi just lowered our expenses again, it was a done deal. "Vee-Jas" stops with its trade shows! We let the conventions behind us and concentrate solely on working with publishers and individuals. Even before a few weeks there was a clear with both of us that we had no desire to travel from fair to fair, and offer them things. The air is just out and we do not wait until we have ever been run no longer our issues!

We have therefore decided that the Leipzig Book Fair 2011 our last common Fair as "Vee-Jas" will be. There are we sell all that is left, after that final conclusion. From 2011, "Vee-Jas" will be only as an illustrator team takes on the direct orders of publishers and individuals. We design anyway book cover, design license plates and paint the most impossible things (exhibition game signs, table tops ...). From now on Vee-Jas will only be active in this way.

It was a good time, but we both think that will be in the long run this decision is the right thing.

The rest
As for Vee-Jas Connichi was one of the worst shows ever, I want to say that the rest is quite positive.
and foremost was the Saturday afternoon for a time, which I will not soon forget. I had with Tanya the opportunity my absolute interviewing favorite artist - You Higuri. I never thought that I would really even have the chance to speak directly to almost a half hours with her (of course a very good translator, funny enough, even the author of Child and Youth books was:)). After we had begun nearly a quarter of an hour late (the elevator was hell!), We have covered about half an hour, what has been You Higuri does nothing. She has very patiently answered all my questions, sometimes betray a lot about themselves and their way of working and was super nice. Especially interesting was her face as I put some of their extremely old plants (Doujinshi) have been excavated for signing.
